“It was Prakash Raj who initially wanted to produce ‘Magizhchi’. He was so happy after I narrated the story penned by Neela Padmanabhan. However he could not produce the film due to unavoidable circumstances,” says the movie’s director Gowthaman.

The filmmaker, who is playing the lead role in the movie along with his longtime friend Seeman, says, “Since Prakash Raj loved the story a lot, he wanted to be part of the project even though he is not producing it. Hence, he is doing an important role.”

On the movie, he says, “The novel ‘Magizhci’ is one of the best works in Tamil. We are making it as a movie without spoiling the beauty. It is going to be a film close to your hearts.”

Happy about sharing the screen with Seeman, Gowthaman says, “He is a longtime friend of mine. He had no hesitations when I approached him to act in ‘Magizhchi’. The film, with Anjali as its heroine, is fast shaping up.”
